When I stand here it makes me human

I was sad and now I'm not and this is why.

Great for when you feel like the end of Altered States.
And would like not to.

chamber

chamber, the dead minotaur's vistas, travelogue or strange art, however we are today

Ambient in holiday-frost, staircase velocity, gold-trim and
holding our noses all the way down.

(Marrow maple syrup thick isn't thick enough for thin, reminds you, riding down in bone and straps buckled in on each other, high-gloss and cozy, posed like surgical tools off the tray magnifique, incisor manifold while doll-forms croon in mahogany and veal carved in paths around the chamber as the sun is parodied below us, pursing lips cracking finish in the tide.)

Where they figured the theater for a womb and let the mechanism seep
in the all-alright, you hardly miss the concessions.

welcoming

welcoming, the dead minotaur's vistas, travelogue or strange art, however we are today

Kick burnt shells out into the road and watch the sparks and the shadows in the dust depart in pairs.
Always in pairs and close enough to be one,
one four legged thing, elephantine, lurching into the fade
until they split at the edge of the dust
and leave each other with everything else.

This far out you wonder how people live even before you're sure they do.
Walls quivering, peeling off the horizon, slick.
Easier if it's just the feeling you're being watched.

Whatever happened here must've been bad.
So bad it keeps happening.
But the company's appreciated and the shadows are dimming
and drawing apart so early now
you can almost miss them.

this is not about finger business

We're happy to report that Gala's new short film will be debuting on Mongrel Studios on December 5th.
That's two weeks from now.
Fourteen days.
That is more days than the fingers you have on your hands.
If you were planning on using them to remember how many days were left until Gala's new short film will be debuting on December 5th, then I am afraid they will be insufficient for the task.
Unless you start later.
This is entirely up to you though
It is not my place to tell you what you can or cannot do with your fingers.
Your finger business is not my finger business.

Nor is it Leland's finger business.

Let's all agree to stay out of each other's finger business.
Okay.

Some things belong together.

Extra special thanks to Something Awful's Awfulvision for bringing this to my awareness.
I am a huge fan and supporter of Youtube mash-ups of this variety. For instance, there is this fellow right here, wreaking awesomeness with rawer materials.
Sure, everything under the sun's been done.
But there's still so much left to be done to what's been done.

a bag a bag bags

Bound/chained/choked by grammar/custom/convenience and the lie/trick/dream of a one true fix.
Instructions deep red front to back but how I'm going to pierce the veil when I can't even fight my way out of this bag I haven't the foggiest.

Smiling Bag-Time Jamboree, a different kind of webcomic. Updated 11.19.09.

When did we lose the foggiest?
Sometimes I wonder if we ever had it at all.

letting the truth out

Like many other comic book characters, Jared's got a mild-mannered alter ego working in journalism.
Lately he's been scrappin' and doodlin' for Truthout.org, the only news site on the internet bad-ass enough to run this as their lead image:

Zombie Politics, art by jared rodriguez for truthout

Which is entirely appropriate company for such a cheerful article from Henry A. Giroux.

Say la vee I 'spose.
The art team over at Truthout have made damn near all their images freely available for non-profit artistic endeavors with Creative Commons licensing, so feel free to do whatever with whatever as long as you don't get richer then them doing it.
If you make anything neat of it, post it in a comment to the work you adapted. If you make anything ****ing rad as **** out of it, send me a link because I want it.
I want all the ****ing rad as **** things.

corner

corner, dead minotaur vista, travelogue or strange art, however we are today

Rafters bleat in high-beam vibrato, curry for the grift.
Latches and locks all liquid in trance.
Coming in through the seventh side, loud and leering.

Teeth chatter in major key, jubilant gnash, calling down rhythm sect on the one-two-too.

Used to be a camera up there, strung up in cable and snug in chicken-wire furnishing, rust and lace.
Dolled up in service station drag on acetone finish, blushing through ceramic, iris wailing in the alcove, kept in mandible step but gone now, all gone now.
Gaze is gone and gotten and though you insisted it was only a guess it sounded so sure.

So sincere.

When the tempo slips and kills the valence.

ooh la gala

Been in touch with Gala Gershwin, filmmaker and lion woman.
Says her new movie is coming along swell, says it might be something we'd be interested in running.
I told her swell may not cut it. We are picky as ****.
All four *'s.
I mean, sometimes we just don't run anything forever.
That's entirely due to our pickitude.
Of course it is.

Leland vouches for the flick, for what it's worth.

Worth a wait-and-see, I suppose.
Something coming maybe eventually.

what bags may come

Every generation of man that's come before has realized the prior had been profoundly wrong about a good number things they felt were pretty damn certain.
Can you imagine what's to come when our reality grows old and dies before us?
When we outlive our normal?
When our bags dissolve around us?

from the look of it

denied, art photography by leland barnes featuring chase ulrich

Leland Barnes has updated his Flickr account.

Have a lookography at his photography.
To be honest though, I have the distinct impression that some of these photos may have been doctored a little.
It's subtle, and I could be wrong.
Call it a hunch.

Falcon vs. Eagle

Wes and I have been trying get together to see about some music and it keeps not happening.
Like today. Today it kept on not happening.
Not happening is all that happened.
So in lieu of that, here's something involving Wes and music that did happen.
Perhaps it's still happening.

All fault and glory to Wes Cornwell, Lance Page and Buck 65 (who I'm sure always envisioned his work interpreted in such a fashion.)

what things is

Somebody once tried telling me sound is half the movie.
Tried and failed.
That's right.
I hit him in his lie-hole and I told him No It Is Not.
I asked him if he had ever cut a movie in half and no of course not.
If you cut a movie in half it is not sound.
Oh, it makes a sound.
(It's a crunchy sound!)
But then you've got two halves of movie.
That's not sound.
That's not sound at all.
Sound is sound!
Don't think I don't know what things is!
Now here's something else about movies I think.

Mongrel Studios presents The Roomies production blog. Updated 11.09.09

If it is not and I am wrong then please hit me.
I may have it coming.

pedestal

pedestal, dead minotaur vista, travelogue or strange art, however we are today

Voodoo gunnery stationed at the patio, true to go.
We'll be ready this time.
Kick back and steady for the klaxon-affect, reading obscenities off white noise waveform so we have something to talk about later.

Through the fence, moire reels. Tastes so strong you hear them.
Average and ordinary w/ wood grain stain,
it's an awful name but I do know how to use it.
No size fits nothing and bacteria for bravery.
(Says so on the receipt.)

This is the midnight scour, the name you pour on the wound so you don't have to explain, so you'll never have to explain.
This block is wire-salad in three easy servings. How it feels, how it looks. Tenement coalition living off the land and stripped copper.
Hometown is pawn shop aesthetics on dried oil slick and medical surplus.
Prosthetics and stucco.
This time we'll be ready.
Mouths to feed for silence and the thought you're still above it all, pressed in halves and torn.
Meanwhile breeds the nuance.

cutting into your diet

You ever go out for a bite to eat with some friends when suddenly this happens?

Super-Shredder says meat is murder. Let's discuss this in Notes Off Key, a Quinn Allan blog.

How does that make you feel? How does that make Quinn feel?

Don't you think it's kind of a drag that Super-Shredder only shows up in the second Ninja Turtles movie for all of five seconds before he drops a pier on his own super-shrapnel-ass and dies?

How super is that?

I'm telling you, it'd take a whole lot more than one lousy pier to take down a Super-the dead minotaur.

Like, ten piers. Minimum.

Oh yeah. Spoiler alert.

amber on flourescents

burrows

Whispers, stainless steel and laser-guided,
triple-blessed and sanctified,
(the other one the secret one,
the one they wish they could tell you about
when it kneels beside their bedside
and hides when they look)
always through the proper channels.

She's sulphur-catholic on knee-high impale,
wire-cut in the late-late style.
Fashionably lacerate,
mainlining utility, wet-dock soaking engine skin.
We're learning new names for numbers over drinks and invitations injected,
(hormonophaged in the doom light, like you do)
expectations in cool knee-deep and sulk.

(ricochet morse code for may we have the check please)

All-out, six shades gradually through the iris,
through abyss,
through the teeth,
all the way through
(and will we never find the god-damn)
with turbines set to devour.
